Pinterest Promoted Pins

Pinterest advertising

For our client, Brandzaffair, we decided to experiment with the new Pinterest promoted pins opportunity. Before we share our results, we thought we’d round up a few expert opinions and information about the advertising tool.

According to Quick Marketing, “These advertising options give businesses the opportunity to pay and feature selected [Pinterest promoted] Pins at the top of search results and category feeds. In fact, promoted pins often perform better than organic Pins. Advertisers’ Promoted Pins were repinned an average of 11 times per advertisement. That’s a 30% increase for the campaign.”

MyWPExpert also endorses promoted pins: “A few bloggers – including our friend Dre Beltrami – and Anna Bennet have posted great posts vouching for the incredible ROI of Pinterest Promoted Pins. In fact, both stated they were able to buy traffic at around seven (7) cents per click – way under what you’d pay on Google Adsense or Facebook.”

RetailTouchPoints.com revealed, “For example, Dot & Bo, a guided furniture and home décor shopping service, has embraced Pinterest to share blogs and design ideas with customers. Since implementing Pinterest Promoted Pins, the brand has quadrupled its total number of site visitors, improved daily clicks to the site by 18,000% and increased re-pins by 6,000%.”

As for our first experiment, spending only $8 netted us 12,008 impressions, 327 engagements, and 30 clicks with an average eCPC of $0.73. With great numbers like these, we’ve upped our spend limit to boost these numbers even more and drive more traffic to our website.
