Employee Q+A: Meet Chloe Ayres, Senior Designer

Team bios, the goss agency, team, employees

What is your role at The Goss Agency?

I am the Senior Graphic Designer (and co-chair of the social committee :P).

How did you become involved in Advertising/Marketing/Design?

My mother is a painter, and I grew up (luckily) being really supported in my need to create. From an early age, I was creating my own fonts and logos for different things, which progressed into Sharpie album covers on my favorite burned CDs in high school. Luckily, all my favorite hobbies were actually a job – graphic design!

What's your favorite saying, quote, etc.?

I don’t have the exact quote, but I am a big fan of the principle that you can not wait for inspiration; good work comes from simply sitting down and doing the work, every day, with discipline and organization.

What do you love about the Advertising industry?

I love how fast-paced it is, I love how you are required to have a sense of humor to make and appreciate good work, and I love that it truly is a team effort.

Who is your idol, who do you look up to, etc.?

PAULA. SCHER. She is a fabulous Graphic Designer who started her career when design truly was a boys club, and has created some of the most iconic logos of all time (FedEx, Citibank). Also, her natural style is extremely playful and maximalistic, which mine is as well.

What's one of your favorite brands?

Martha Stewart. Everything she touches turns to gold.

What are 3 words to describe The Goss Agency?

Fast-paced, fun, creative.

What has been one of your favorite team trips?

My favorite team trip so far has been when we visited Foxfire Mountain and Wylie Cider for an On-The-Ground-Assessment. All of Foxfire Mountain was so cool and quirky, and we got to experience the tallest zipline that I have ever been on! There were also llamas there, which I was not expecting.

Who is your favorite person in the world?

Beyonce. FYI, I wrote in this question because I just felt like I needed to mention Beyonce at least once in this blog post.
